The Church — Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.

January–March Sermon Series

What is the church meant to be — and how should we live as God’s people in our time?

From January through to the end of March, this sermon series explores God’s vision for His church across time: yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Grounded in the book of Isaiah and shaped by key New Testament passages, we will trace God’s enduring purposes for His people and His mission in the world.

As we move through the opening months of the year, this series reminds us that while cultures, generations, and circumstances change, God’s design for His church does not. The church is founded on Jesus and the gospel, united across the world and across generations, ordered for faithful service, and sent into the world with hope.

Across these weeks we will reflect on the church as:

  • centred on Jesus and the gospel
  • part of the global and historic people of God
  • governed and guided for faithful ministry
  • shaped by grace, love, service, and generosity
  • growing in faith, maturity, and gospel impact
  • going into the world to share Jesus
  • built up through discipleship and God-given gifts

This is not only a series about what the church has been, but a call to consider who we are called to be now, and how we live with faith, hope, and love as we look to the future God is bringing about.

Whether you are a long-time church member or exploring Christian faith, this series invites you to rediscover the purpose, beauty, and mission of God’s church — yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
